Working from photos I can create an accurate and
detailed portrait of your horse in oil. I pay close
attention to details to accurately portray the differences
between breeds and riding disciplines. In addition
to my commissioned custom portraits, I also have many
other original and limited edition prints for sale.

I can work from your photos or I can take them for
you if you are in the Santa Barbara area. Please remember,
the detail of the final portrait is directly related
to the quality and focus of the photographs you provide.
It is best if you have several photos to choose from.
You can tell me which one captures your horse the
best and together we can decide which one will make
the best portrait. All photos will be returned. I
accept printed photos or digital photos on a CD as
long as the resolution is high enough to print out
a good quality 8 x 10” photo. You must own the
copy right to the photos you provide or permission
to use it.
Once I have a suitable photograph, turn around time
is usually about 4 to 6 weeks, depending on my current
work load. I am also happy to paint dogs and cats.
Christmas is my busiest time of year.
When painting in oil, I use heavy-duty, 12-oz. cotton
duck canvas, which is stretched on to heavy-duty 1
3/8" deep stretcher bars. Corners are hand tailored,
yielding a clean professional appearance and I paint
the edges of the canvas so that framing is not necessary.
A 50% deposit is required before I begin the portrait.
I will email you a photo of the finished portrait
for your approval before final payment is collected.

I paint each piece to the best of my ability and
I want you to be happy with your portrait. If you
are not satisfied with the painting, I ask that you
give me the opportunity to correct it or re-do it.
If you are still not happy and want to return the
painting, I will refund your money less any shipping
handling charges.
Please note that all prices are for portraits containing
1 subject and a simple background. Complex backgrounds
my cost extra. Prices do not include framing. Pricing
does not include shipping and handling.
